The story behind our Name
​
Johannes Brahms ( 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897 ) a German composer and pianist. In his lifetime, Brahms’s popularity and influence were considerable, sometimes grouped with Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the “Three B's". Brahms is often considered both a traditionalist and an innovator. Within his meticulous structures is embedded, however, a highly romantic nature.

Domaine Brahms Wineries is a boutique wine cellar, situated north-west of Paarl below Paarl Mountain. Here, the co-owner and winemaker seeks to practice a vintner’s fine craftsmanship that is based on the cultivated harmony between man and nature, with personal attention given to each bottle.

Characterised by aromas of smoky black pepper in combination with warm dark cherries. This deep rich ruby red carries through the palate with additional rich flavours of wild berry fruit and hints of liquorice in the background.
With a silky smooth mouthful aftertaste, supported well structured fine grained tannins you'll be singing:

an easy, laid-back red wine, our Sonato is a fresh lively composition of red varietals with berry fruit especially blackberries that follow through onto the palate. A perfect accompaniment for red meats, past and game.

CHENIN BLANC UNWOODED

Light green straw colour with freshly picked guava and hints of tropical flavours on the nose. This follows through to the palate. A fresh lively wine to be enjoyed as an aperitif or with food. It is especially good with cheese, seafood, white meat, vegetables and pasta dishes.
